day 28 ~ indelible

My lovely and inspiring friend, Heather, generously offered up her beautiful tattoo of a tree for my creative play.

While having fun with Heather's ink, I couldn't help but think of a mother's arms: the security, the strength, the love. Finding nourishment through our own roots, growing strong to reach new heights, providing shelter and care for those depending upon us (including ourselves), being tough in some places and tender sweet in others is Life. Motherhood is the attempt to do all of that for yourself while hoping that you are teaching and providing your children the same.

Is it any wonder I love trees as much as I do?

  2. A beautiful post, doubly so for the dual inspirational sources. I love your thoughts on motherhood and cannot help but feel (even from a man's view) that it is the purest most noble aspect of humankind, indeed Life itself, and that this Earth is our mother and teacher, too.

  3. Trees- and mothers- offer nests. Temporary, meant to be flown from. But the really old trees seem to keep them, season after season. Hoping. :)

I love how you make things your own, Misha. You really know how to see and create.
