day 75 ~ growing pains

.
.

These wire wrapped trees are delighting me. If I wasn't being lazy by using my cell phone to take the photos in lieu of my camera, perhaps you could enjoy more of the detail. Or, maybe when the weather gets nice again, I'll take the cuties out to the woods for a photo shoot?

After making yesterday's tree, I began another and worked on it until my right thumb and index finger did mightily protest. I'm not sure how long it will take for the pain to subside. Until then, we have this....

  1. Magical, though! It is great to see them in process like this... that black wire is going to be very chic! There must be a way to ease the finger burden... perhaps a thin glove you can purchase? Tiny pliers for the tougher bends? The answer will arrive whimsically, I suppose. Keep up the great work!

  2. Can calluses be whimsical? Probably not. My feeling is that it will be a matter of allowing ample time between creations, as I really prefer using my bare fingers. How else can they be imbued with heartfelt energy without direct contact? :)

This wire is much easier on my digits than the thicker gauge I used on your birthday tree. These won't be quite as large but it's a trade off I'm willing to make. And, I like that yours is unique in every way.

    Thanks, Rick.

  5. These are gorgeous. As for the calluses, I think it is similar to guitarists. Great musicians struggle at the beginning with this issue and its meant to get easier (less painful). I suppose as long as the pieces are "imbued with heartfelt energy" and not blood, I think its all good!! :)

  6. Oh no... "I think its all good"?? Now I'm starting to sound like my teenagers.

  7. ZD, you made me laugh. Children have a way of draining away their parents' brain cells. A missing apostrophe is the least of our concerns!
