~ O ~
According to Wikipedia:
O is the fourth most commonly used letter in the English language. It was derived from the Semetic 'Ayin' (eye), a letter which in its original form is thought to have been inspired by the Egyptian hieroglyph for "eye". Its graphic form has remained fairly consistent since Phoenician times and resembles the shape the mouth makes when speaking its sound.
